Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist | New York, New York

A reputable infusion pharmacy in the New York, NY area requires two skilled pharmacists for a 13-week contract opportunity with the possibility of contract-to-hire based on performance. This role offers the chance to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, supporting patients with critical home infusion therapies and comprehensive medication management.


Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications, including compounding sterile solutions in compliance with protocols.
• Monitor patient medication adherence and identify potential drug-related problems.
• Ensure legal compliance in medication supply and appropriateness of prescribed therapies.
• Maintain confidential and precise patient records.
• Provide patient consultations on medication use, side effects, storage, and interactions.
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Deliver additional patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol management.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, to maintain high-quality pharmacy operations.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
• Active New York State pharmacist license.
• Prior experience in intravenous (IV) medication preparation and dispensing.
• Strong knowledge of home infusion pharmacy practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
