Clinicians on assignment may also explore the area's Route 66 heritage, including landmarks such as Schifferdecker Park, the Route 66 Mural Park, and the 66 Drive-In Theatre in Carthage, located approximately 17 miles northeast. The region's historic district and modern downtown provide additional dining and leisure options for those on assignment. About the Clinician's Workday Clinicians in this role will provide anesthesia services during day shifts at an operating room facility in Joplin, Missouri, working Monday through Friday on 5x8-hour shifts, with OR cases typically running until approximately 2100. After scheduled cases conclude, clinicians transition to home call. Weekday call is structured every third night, with a post-call day off provided and a noon pre-call start; weekend call requires a single physician to cover the entire weekend. Call-back rate is 30-50%, with a required 20-minute return to the facility; call-backs include OR cases, ED traumas, and OB assistance. Board certification is required for all clinicians considered for this role.
