Human Resources Recruiting Specialist

Overview Family Focus is your partner in building strong families across the Chicago Metropolitan area. We support families and their children with emergency assistance, child welfare services, family support services, educational programs and more. With 11 centers already up and running, we are expanding to make a greater impact. Job Title HR Recruiting Specialist Location Loop Office Department and Supervisor Human Resources, supervised by Director of HR, People Operations. Responsibilities Collaborate with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to develop and update job descriptions, confirm candidate requirements, and design recruitment strategies. Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs on appropriate job boards, newspapers, colleges, etc. Source and recruit candidates using databases, social media, and other channels. Review resumes and applications; conduct phone screens and other selection tools to filter candidates. Facilitate initial onboarding activities and required paperwork. Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices. Provide ongoing follow‑up to internal stakeholders and external candidates regarding the status of the recruitment process. Maintain the ATS and provide analytical and well‑documented recruiting metric reports on a regular and ad‑hoc basis. Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process and in developing talent pipelines. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources or a related field. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. At least two years of proven recruiting experience, either in‑house or staffing agency. Experience recruiting for non‑profit education or social services agencies a strong plus. Solid knowledge of legal requirements related to employment, selection, and job postings. Strong interview skills across structured, behavioral, competency‑based formats. Hands‑on experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and human resource information systems (HRIS). Intermediate Excel skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization. Detail‑oriented and strong documentation skills. Experience recruiting through social media and networking sites. Strong decision‑making skills. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $50,000 – $53,000 per year. Full‑time, exempt position.
