HR Coordinator/Administrator - Alsip, IL (in-person)

Food & Paper Supply, an established food and paper distributor located in the south suburbs of Illinois (Alsip), is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented individual with at least two years of hands‑on HR experience. This is a full‑time, 100% in‑office position. The ideal candidate will be a self‑starter who can work independently while leveraging available resources and collaborating effectively with leadership. Position Overview Recruiting and onboarding for both warehouse and office positions Administering the new hire process and orientation programs to foster a positive employee experience Processing payroll and administering employee health and welfare benefits Acting as a liaison between management and employees, addressing questions, interpreting policies, and resolving workplace issues Advising managers on organizational policies, including equal employment opportunity and harassment prevention Investigating and reporting workplace incidents; coordinating safety initiatives and managing the safety committee Maintaining personnel records and compiling reports on HR metrics such as hires, terminations, performance evaluations, and absenteeism Representing the organization in employee‑related hearings and investigations Partnering with an outsourced HR Consultant to deliver high‑quality HR services Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field Minimum of 2 years of HR experience (internships considered) Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels Spanish language skills strongly preferred Experience working with hourly and/or unionized employees is a plus Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices Highly organized with excellent planning and prioritization skills Results‑oriented with a strong sense of urgency and high work capacity Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, and team‑oriented Detail‑oriented with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism PHR certification (preferred) or currently in progress Why Join Us?
