2026-27 Athletic Equipment Manager - North Canyon HS

Purpose Statement The job of Athletic Equipment Manager is done for the purpose of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for inventorying and maintaining athletic equipment; identifying equipment requirements of students; preparing playing fields and courts for home events; and assisting student athletes and coaches during practices and/or events. Job Details Location: North Canyon High School Non‑Interim Position 11 months, 8 hours per day Grade 12, $15.15 per hour Start Date: 07/06/2026 This job reports to the Athletic Director. Essential Functions Assign lockers to athletes for the purpose of ensuring available use. Assist Athletic Director, coaches, and officials during athletic events for the purpose of responding to equipment needs. Cleans sports equipment and vans for proper condition. Evaluates equipment requirements of student athletes (e.g., sizing, proper equipment) to minimize injuries. Maintains uniforms and equipment (cleaning, repairs, inventories) to ensure continued availability. Maintains a variety of manual and electronic lists and/or records such as inventory of supplies and equipment, locker assignments, etc., for documentation. Monitors setup of venue of athletic event to ensure safety and efficient support service during event. Orders new athletic equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability. Prepares materials for transport to offsite athletic events to ensure availability. Processes sports uniforms and equipment (issuing and reclaiming) to ensure availability. Repairs uniforms and equipment to ensure availability. Responds to inquiries from internal and external sources for information and/or direction as required. Stencils all equipment, supplies and uniforms for easy identification of school property. Supervises student workers to maximize efficiency and meet work requirements. Travels with the sports teams as required to assist the coaches. Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Skills: preparing and maintaining accurate records; using pertinent software applications. Knowledge: basic math (fractions, percents, ratios); understanding written procedures; writing routine documents; speaking clearly; understanding multi‑step written and oral instructions; general knowledge of athletics‑related equipment. Abilities: scheduling activities and/or meetings; gathering and collating data; using basic, job‑related equipment; flexibility to work with others; problem solving to analyze issues and create action plans; working as part of a team; meeting deadlines and schedules; maintaining good rapport with students, employees, and community. Responsibilities Working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; utilization of resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. Work Environment Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; significant fine finger dexterity; 50% sitting, 25% walking, 25% standing; minimal temperature variations; exposure to risk of injury and/or illness. Experience Job related experience is required. Education High school diploma or equivalent. Clearances Criminal Background Clearance.
