- Required to care for mixed acuity patients including neurology and neurosurgery cases


Description:
Seeking a registered nurse for a stepdown neuro unit.
The unit cares for medical-surgical patients specializing in neurology and neurosurgery.
Patients may include those with strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions.
Nurses should be prepared to care for up to six medical-surgical patients.
Ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with potential for 1:7 during nights in rare circumstances.
Stepdown ratios range from 1:3 to 1:4 for both day and night shifts.
The facility requires travelers to be first to float as necessary.
Weekend shifts consist of four shifts out of eight possible in a four-week period.
Compliance with weekend and holiday shifts is required.
The facility is a 100% nicotine-free environment.
Travelers must have a valid nursing license.
Additional skills required include managing drips, telemetry, and surgical drain care.
Candidates must be prepared for an interdisciplinary approach, working with various support teams.
Candidates not possessing multiple requisite experiences may not be considered.
All travelers should be aware of the requirement for a detailed screening procedure.
