Travel PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN) | La Vista, Nebraska

As a Stepdown Registered Nurse in this high-acuity setting, you'll join a multidisciplinary team working in Oncology, Trauma, PCU, and Med-Surg units. Schedule/Hours:

• 36 hours per week, 13-week contract
• 12-hour shifts (varied start times available)
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum one year of PCU or Oncology RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required
• NIHSS certification
• Charge experience preferred for leadership roles (1 year minimum)
• Genuine passion for patient care, positivity in challenging situations, and strong team orientation

Responsibilities:

• Manage adult patient populations on a 27-bed unit (Oncology, PCU, Med-Surg)
• Titrate drips (insulin, cardizem, chemotherapy, heparin, protonix)
• Float to Med-Surg/PCU as needed
• Complete orientation and open-book skills assessment (90% to pass)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff (PT/OT, case managers, social work, educators)
• Emphasize hourly rounding and patient experience
