Quality Coordinator

The Quality Coordinator works closely with the Director of Quality & Risk Management, hospital leadership, clinical teams, and non-clinical departments to identify trends and risks, analyze quality data, address concerns, and support sustainable improvements across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the hospital's Quality/Performance Improvement and Risk Management programs in accordance with regulatory, accreditation, corporate, and hospital requirements.
• Collect, analyze, trend, and present quality and performance improvement data to leadership and committees.
• Identify performance gaps, patient safety risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare quality reports, dashboards, summaries, charts, and presentations.
• Participate in quality improvement, process improvement, corrective action, and risk management initiatives.
• Assist with root cause analyses, audits, tracers, risk assessments, regulatory readiness, and follow-up monitoring.
• Coordinate quality assurance and infection prevention/control activities, including outbreak investigations and monitoring of corrective measures.
• Maintain accurate quality, risk, infection prevention, complaint, grievance, and performance improvement documentation.
• Prepare required monthly, quarterly, and annual quality reports.
• Collaborate with departments to promote patient safety, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement.

Patient Advocacy & Complaints

• Receive, document, track, and coordinate resolution of patient and family complaints and grievances.
• Ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct patient rounding and engage patients and families to identify concerns and opportunities to improve the patient experience.
• Monitor patient satisfaction feedback and identify trends requiring corrective or preventive action.
• Communicate with patients, families, guardians, physicians, supervisors, and department leaders regarding concerns and resolutions.
• Escalate significant patient safety concerns, unresolved grievances, potential legal issues, and other risks to appropriate leadership.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, family, employee, and organizational information.

Regulatory Compliance

• Support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, Joint Commission/accreditation standards, hospital policies, and corporate requirements.
• Promote a culture of patient safety, accountability, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain current knowledge through training, continuing education, and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by hospital leadership.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Quality Management, Business Administration, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of healthcare, hospital, behavioral health, quality improvement, risk management, public health, or related experience preferred.
• Experience with quality improvement, performance improvement, project management, process improvement, or healthcare operations.
• Experience collecting, analyzing, trending, and presenting data required.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 and ability to learn electronic healthcare, quality, and reporting systems.
• Knowledge of PDSA, Lean Six Sigma, or other process-improvement methodologies is a plus.
