Business Enterprise Advisory Manager

Job Title Withum’s Business Enterprise Advisors (BEA) team is seeking a manager to join our Burlington, MA office. The BEA group provides tax, assurance and advisory services to privately held small-to-medium sized companies, acting as a single point of contact for their business needs. This leadership role allows the manager to work directly with business owners and their families, delivering consultative tax planning advice while contributing to our growing firm. The position offers a permanent hybrid work schedule. Responsibilities Review Business Tax Returns (1065, 1120, 1120S) and trusts/estates (1041), high‑net‑worth, and ultra‑high net worth individual income tax returns (1040). Coordinate with clients and their advisors on quarterly and year‑end tax planning and projections. Supervise, train, and support engagement staff; promote open communication with partnership and management. Inspire, develop, mentor, and retain staff while assigning challenging projects. Review and supervise the preparation of compilation and review level financial statements. Collaborate cross‑functionally with tax, assurance, accounting, and advisory groups to identify opportunities to fully service clients and their families. Stay current on technical and industry developments and standards; evaluate their impact on clients’ business and financial positions. Participate in client proposals and identify new business development opportunities. Prepare compilations and reviews for audit. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a related business field. CPA designation required; alternatively MST (Masters of Science in Taxation), JD, or LLM. Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a local or mid‑size CPA firm or tax consulting practice. Strong tax technical background with a willingness to stay current on key tax‑law changes. Excellent analytical, organizational, project‑management, and technical skills. Exceptional client‑service and communication skills; proven ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships. Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a fast‑paced, results‑driven team environment. Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills; excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities to represent the firm to clients. Compensation Base salary ranges from $125,000 to $185,000 annually. Additional benefits include a competitive benefits package and a bonus program (eligible for roles based on individual and firm performance).
