National Account Director, Oncology GPOs

Merck's Oncology team seeks a National Account Director to manage relationships with Group Purchasing Organizations, driving contract development and execution. The field-based position requires stakeholder engagement, competitive monitoring, and coordination across matrix teams, with approximately 50% travel.
Responsibilities
- Monitor competitive contracting activity and solicit GPO input on contract structures
- Support contract negotiation and conduct quarterly business reviews with GPO headquarters
- Communicate oncology portfolio contract terms and conditions to practices and GPO members
- Coordinate with internal teams including OKAM, CTL, OSR, and account executives
- Develop and maintain productive business relationships with GPO headquarters and member physician practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years oncology GPO account management or equivalent experience
- Oncology community knowledge and GPO industry familiarity
- Oncology product knowledge including specialty pharmacy and buy-and-bill processes
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and strategic account planning skills
- Ability to travel approximately 50% and manage complex matrix team coordination
- Executive presence with consultative selling and presentation capabilities
- 2+ years pharmaceutical management experience (preferred)
Compensation: $210,400 - $331,100 base
