If you're a collaborative accounting professional who values accuracy, accountability, and meaningful work, we'd love to have you on our team.This is more than an accounting position—it's an opportunity to play a key role in the financial stewardship of one of Ohio's growing public transit agencies.Why You'll Love Working at BCRTACompetitive salary14% employer contribution to the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS)Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and short-term disabilityGenerous Paid Time OffProfessional development and continuing education opportunitiesStable public-sector employment with a growing organizationCollaborative leadership team that values innovation and continuous improvementMeaningful work that directly supports the communities we serveYour ImpactReporting to the Director of Finance & Administration, you'll help ensure the financial health and integrity of BCRTA.From daily accounting operations to grant compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation, your work will provide the information leadership relies on to make sound financial decisions and responsibly manage public resources.This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys balancing detailed accounting work with strategic financial analysis.What You'll DoYou'll play a critical role in managing and supporting BCRTA's financial operations by:Managing and overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activityPreparing monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedulesAssisting with the development and monitoring of the agency's annual operating and capital budgetsReconciling bank accounts and researching financial discrepanciesMaintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedulesPreparing financial analyses and reports for leadership and the Board of TrusteesSupporting annual financial statement preparation, Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), Hinkle filings, and external auditsAssisting with federal, state, and local grant accounting, reporting, and complianceSupporting Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), and other funding agency reporting requirementsAssisting with National Transit Database (NTD) reportingMaintaining strong internal controls and ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standardsCoordinating financial and statistical information across departmentsIdentifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiencyRepresenting the Finance Department at meetings, training, and special projects as assignedWhat We're Looking ForYou're someone who enjoys working with numbers—but understands that accounting is about supporting people and organizational success.You are naturally curious, detail-oriented, and take pride in producing accurate work.
