Job Title: TIG Welder Fabricator Job Description

Join our team as a TIG Welder Fabricator, where you will play a crucial role in the final assembly department, working alongside 10 other welders. You will be responsible for fabricating machined parts, performing TIG welding primarily in horizontal positions, and overseeing the final assembly of products. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently will be essential as you read and interpret blueprints for short-run production.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding, primarily focusing on stainless steel, with occasional MIG welding.

• Fabricate and assemble machined and cut-to-size parts.

• Utilize hand tools such as angle grinders and sanders to finish rough edges on stainless steel or aluminum.

• Operate tools including tube benders, drill presses, and saws to create necessary parts.

• Read and interpret blueprints, ensuring precise execution of client-specific jobs.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 10 years of TIG welding experience with stainless steel.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, including symbols and tolerances.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work quickly and efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Fabrication and assembly experience.

• Experience with machine shop tools such as lathes, Bridgeports, saws, and grinders.

• Knowledge of pipefitting and MIG welding.

Work Environment

Work in a clean and organized facility, part of a leading performer in manufacturing and assembly of pathology, histology, necropsy, and morgue equipment. Join a team of 84 employees, including 10 skilled welders. Dress code includes working attire, welding helmet, gloves, and steel toe boots. The facility encompasses various departments, ensuring a comprehensive production process from raw material to finished product, all under one roof.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
