Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established and highly respected private organization in Houston to identify a Staff Accountant, Operations . This position offers a unique opportunity to combine accounting expertise with operational finance responsibilities while working closely with an experienced leadership team.

What You'll Do

• Manage and review transactions from initiation through approval and payment
• Analyze and code invoices, ensuring accurate accounting treatment
• Prepare journal entries for various operational and non-cash transactions
• Assist with accounts payable workflows while maintaining strong accounting oversight
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain approvals and resolve discrepancies
• Support banking-related activities and account administration
• Partner with accounting and operational teams on process improvements
• Participate in projects focused on workflow automation and technology enhancements
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-touch environment
• Communicate professionally with both internal and external stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Experience in public accounting, professional services, professional services, or corporate accounting preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and journal entries
• Experience with accounts payable processes and transaction workflows
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Preferred Backgrounds

Successful candidates often come from:

• Public accounting firms seeking an industry transition
• Audit professionals with 2-5 years of experience
• Professional services organizations
