Position Summary CVS Pharmacy, Inc., a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Richardson, TX: Data Engineer to develop, build and manage large-scale data structures, pipelines and efficient Extract/Load/Transform (ETL) workflows to address complex problems and support business applications. Duties include developing large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data to generate insights and address reporting needs; writing ETL processes, designing database systems, and developing tools for real‑time and offline analytic processing that improve existing systems and expand capabilities; collaborating with Data Science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes; testing and maintaining systems and troubleshooting malfunctions; leveraging knowledge of Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and designing and optimizing queries to build data pipelines; utilizing programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems; building data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers; integrating data from a variety of sources and ensuring adherence to data quality and accessibility standards; analyzing current information technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions to complex business problems; experimenting with available tools and advising on new tools to provide optimal solutions that meet the requirements dictated by the model/use case; designing, developing, and implementing scalable data engineering pipelines leveraging Generative AI frameworks to enable deterministic, auditable, and reproducible data transformations and actions; designing full‑stack development initiatives using React, TypeScript, and Python microservices, delivering high‑performance web applications and backend services; and integrating machine learning capabilities into data platforms for predictive analytics. Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience in each of the following: Java, Python, Python Flask, Python Django or Node.js Agile methodologies or SAFe Software Development Principles Cloud technologies: Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Teradata Docker or Kubernetes Teradata, SQL, MySQL or NoSQL GCP Vertex AI, GCP Agent Engine, Google Agent Development Kit Software development lifecycle (SDLC) Software testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting Domain support for healthcare or retail organization Writing application code and deploying to production Developing backend services, performing code reviews, and collaborating with peers on software development solutions Data Engineering pipeline using Apache Airflow, Pub/Sub streaming, Security architecture Pay Range $157,414.00/year to $157,414.00/year.
