Systems Analyst Strategic Portfolio Management

Job Description:

The Systems Analyst collaborates with business, clinical, and technical subject matter experts, Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) leaders and stakeholders, IT/DTS partners, and other shared support teams across Intermountain Health to analyze, design, build, test, implement, and technically and functionally support a spectrum of digital solutions. The role supports the end-to-end SPM lifecycle, including intake, idea, demand, project, resource, and agile work management such as enhancements, defects, stories, epics, and sprints. The position applies problem solving, learning agility, interpersonal communication, project management, documentation proficiency, process improvement, and technical ServiceNow expertise. The ideal candidate proactively identifies opportunities, recommends innovative solutions, and coaches process owners through discovery, documentation, development, deployment, and continuous improvement to achieve strong business, clinical, and operational outcomes. Essential Functions •

User support:

Performs operational systems tasks and maintenance. Supports user’s dayto-day needs. Solves low to moderately complex issues, incidents, and problems according to agreed upon service levels and according to IT/DTS standards. •

Requirements gathering:

Gathers and documents requirements through stakeholder identification and interviews, research, competitive analysis, and user feedback. Works to align requirements against best practices, system KPIs and technology capabilities. •

Analytics:

Under supervision, collaborates on implementation of analytics services, including creation, distribution, and management of dashboards and reports. Works to translate customer metrics and KPI requirements into reports and dashboards. •

Project management:

Participates in the creation and management of project management schedules and activities. Consistently meets agreed upon deadlines or escalates issues, concerns, and barriers to key project leaders. Assists with the prioritization of tasks/assignments. •

Digital and ServiceNow SME:

Applies strong knowledge of digital tools, ServiceNow capabilities, and leading practices to help the product team and stakeholders understand what is possible, shape practical solutions, and identify where ServiceNow capabilities can add value. Proactively brings forward ideas and recommendations, guides solution conceptualization, strategy, design, configuration, implementation, adoption, and measurement, and performs light ServiceNow development and configuration within established platform standards and governance. •

Usability:

Under supervision, applies usability best practices, usability research, data analysis, and quality improvement principles in the development of solutions. •

Quality Assurance:

Follows standard testing methodologies, ensuring digital tools and solutions meet requirements. •

Training:

Participates and collaborates in the development and delivery of training, as well as knowledge-based materials for use by peers or end users. Skills • Domain and lifecycle modeling: Uses systems-thinking skills to identify interactions and relationships among people, processes, data, and technology across the SPM lifecycle, including intake, idea, demand, project, resource, and agile work management. • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience building clear, executive-ready slide decks and presenting concepts, recommendations, and impacts to senior and executive-level stakeholders and leaders, as well as technical and nontechnical staff. • Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively within a product team, across technology teams, and with vendors, vendor partners, key stakeholders, and all levels of system leaders and caregivers. • Consensus: Experience building consensus and working effectively within a cross-functional team. • Proactive solutioning and innovation: Anticipates needs, investigates root causes, evaluates new ServiceNow releases and capabilities, and brings forward practical, scalable, and innovative recommendations. • Workflow management: Prioritizes and executes work in a high-pressure environment, manages competing requests, and supports backlog, sprint, and delivery practices to achieve timely, high-quality outcomes. Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience providing analysis, design, configuration, implementation (technical and functional) and support of business/financial or clinical information systems or as an expert user of the targeted systems(s) Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an information technology field Experience supporting Service Management processes, especially within HR or Healthcare IT environments Experience translating business requirements into clear functional specifications that meet project goals for UX designers, software developers, data architects, QA testers, usability evaluators, and other technical stakeholders. Proficiency with ServiceNow, especially in HR Case Management, Lifecycles and Journeys, and reporting/analytics capabilities Familiarity with Workday and its relationship to functional HR business processes Experience with AI prompt engineering and workflow automation, including tools such as Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, or similar platforms Related certifications such as ITIL Foundations, Lean, Six Sigma, Agile or Scrum Physical Requirements Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands See and read computer monitors and documents Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching Location: Peaks Regional Office
