Work Environment\n

This position will be conducted remotely but will involve close collaboration with school personnel and families. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional evening or weekend hours based on the needs of students. Flexibility in scheduling is critical, as the role may require on-call support to manage urgent situations effectively. The successful candidate will adapt to a virtual work environment while utilizing various digital communication tools to maintain clear connections with students and families.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed assessments of students' psychosocial needs, considering emotional, environmental, and social factors influencing their behavior and performance.

• Collaborate with students, parents, and educators to develop comprehensive and tailored care plans that align with individual goals and academic requirements.

• Provide individualized counseling sessions using evidence-based therapeutic methodologies, helping students navigate challenges ranging from peer pressure to family dynamics.

• Advocate for students’ rights and facilitate access to necessary community resources, ensuring that families are informed about pertinent educational programs and support groups.
\n
• Engage in regular consultations with school staff and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care efforts, which may include teachers, counselors, and administrative personnel.

• Monitor student progress by conducting follow-ups, as well as organizing workshops to promote emotional resilience and coping strategies for students.

• Maintain clear, accurate, and confidential client documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes reflecting ongoing evaluation of students’ needs.

• Facilitate family meetings to improve communication and resolve conflicts that arise in the student’s home or school life.

• Educate students and families on available social services, community resources, and interventions to enhance social engagement.

• Stay informed about best practices and current policies in social work, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and applicable regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on supporting students aged K-12 in the school system. These students may face a variety of challenges such as anxiety, behavioral issues, family problems, or other mental health concerns that may affect their education and quality of life. By providing services in this setting, LCSWs help empower students to overcome barriers and thrive academically and personally.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid LCSW license from the state of New Jersey.

• A minimum of two years of experience in social work, ideally within an educational or adolescent-focused environment.

• Comprehensive knowledge of social work principles, mental health disorders, and available community support.
\n
• Strong skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students and families.

• Proficiency in virtual communication platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
