Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:

Registered Nurse (Operating Room) provides direct perioperative patient care and supports safe, efficient surgical services. The role assists with pre-operative preparation, intra-operative assistance, and post-operative assessment to ensure compliance with established standards and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Prepare patients and the operating room environment in alignment with sterile technique and safety standards.
• Assist the surgical team with case setup, patient positioning, and instrument/field readiness.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition during the perioperative phase.
• Perform documentation and perioperative charting in the electronic medical record, including Epic.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely completion of required clinical workflows.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active California Registered Nurse (CA RN) license at time of submission.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Bring 2+ years of RN experience with strong perioperative/OR exposure.
• Demonstrate proficiency using Epic or comparable electronic medical record systems.
• Complete required perioperative competencies and HealthStream modules as assigned.
• Support weekend and on-call coverage on an approximately monthly and weekday basis as required.
