Controls & Automation Technician

We are seeking an experienced Controls & Automation Technician to support industrial process control systems in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for PLC programming, troubleshooting, automation project support, instrumentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC and HMI systems.

• Support commissioning and startup of automation projects.

• Troubleshoot instrumentation, control hardware, and industrial networks.

• Develop and maintain control system documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to improve process performance, reliability, and safety.

• Support control system upgrades and capital projects.

• Provide operator and maintenance training as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial controls, automation, or process control experience.

• Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and system integration.

• Knowledge of HMI development and industrial communication networks.

• Experience with process instrumentation, field devices, and low-voltage control systems.

• Ability to read electrical drawings, P&IDs, and control schematics.

• Experience in chemical manufacturing, specialty chemicals, or other continuous process industries strongly preferred.

• Technical degree, associate degree, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
