Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of recent MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down experience preferred. - Positive attitude with a focus on teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Description: This unit focuses on receiving admitted patients, completing Admission Assessments, and initiating acute care orders. The emphasis is on patient safety and care, ensuring a positive patient and family experience. Patients come with a wide variety of diagnoses, requiring a well-rounded nursing background. Advanced skills such as Charge Nurse experience or a willingness to take on this role are appreciated. Minimal bedside procedures are performed due to the unit environment. Staffing typically includes 1-2 CNAs based on volume, aiming for a free charge model. Expect to float to other units within your skill set as needed. Additional opportunities may include working with Telemetry patients and assisting in patient transport from the emergency department. Travel nurses often request extensions, reflecting a supportive and collaborative work environment.
