Chief Technology Officer

Salary: $275,000 - 350,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior executive role such as CTO, VP Engineering, or an equivalent position.
• We prefer experience in the mortgage industry, ideally with a well-known mortgage lender or financial services organization.
• We need proven experience leading a software engineering organization that builds and operates proprietary systems rather than primarily vendor-managed or SaaS-led environments.
• We require deep, hands-on expertise with Azure cloud infrastructure and SQL Server at production scale, including architecture, performance, security, and cost oversight.
• We expect a strong record of maintaining uptime in the high 99.99% range for mission-critical, customer-facing systems.
• We look for a solid background in information security leadership and security infrastructure, with familiarity with financial services regulatory and audit expectations.
• We want experience directing applied AI/ML initiatives within a production engineering environment and turning AI capabilities into tangible business and customer outcomes.
• We need practical knowledge of enterprise networking, including cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, and network security.
• We require experience owning disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including failover testing and recovery objectives, for critical systems.
• We value demonstrated ability in capacity planning across infrastructure and applications to anticipate growth and scale efficiently.
• We seek strong people leadership skills, including building, developing, and retaining engineering talent across a large, multi-team organization.
• We expect exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to present technology strategy, risk, and performance to the CEO, Board, and investors.
• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a masters degree is preferred.
• We require hands-on experience with Aloha software.
• We require high-speed internet for remote work, using cable or fiber only with Ethernet connectivity and meeting minimum speed requirements.

• We will rely on you to lead our software engineering organization, setting standards, architecture direction, and delivery rhythm across multiple product and platform teams.
• You will own our Azure cloud infrastructure and SQL Server environments, including architecture, cost management, performance tuning, and long-term platform strategy.
• You will be accountable for achieving and sustaining very high system uptime and reliability through monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, and disciplined engineering practices.
• You will own our information security posture and security infrastructure, working with Compliance and Risk to protect systems, data, and customer information while meeting regulatory and investor requirements.
• You will define our AI strategy and investment, overseeing internal AI initiatives and determining where AI can responsibly improve efficiency, customer experience, and decisioning.
• You will own enterprise networking architecture across data center, cloud, and remote or hybrid workforce connectivity to ensure performance, security, and scalability.
• You will direct disaster recovery and business continuity planning for critical systems, including recovery objectives, failover testing, and operational readiness.
• You will lead capacity planning across infrastructure and applications so our platforms scale ahead of demand without unnecessary over-provisioning.
• You will build, develop, and retain engineering talent and leadership while managing development resources and prioritization across competing initiatives.
• You will partner with our CEO, CIO/CISO, and executive leadership team to translate business strategy into a technology roadmap and represent Technology in Board and investor discussions.
• You will manage the technology budget, including infrastructure spend, tooling, and headcount, balancing innovation with operating efficiency.
