Department Overview TheRochester Tax practice at Insero is not a high volume 1040 practice but isinstead a tax practice focusing on complex tax compliance and projects withinFortune 500 companies as well as tax consulting across small and middle marketcompanies including: multi-state, multi-national, real estate, manufacturing(amongst other industries) companies. Majority of our small businessclients are in the 1-10 million sales volume and middle market practice areclosely held businesses in the 20 million – 200 million+ sales volume many ofwhich have global and multi state issues. Summary: Senior TaxAccountant will be responsible for the timely completion of tax compliance andconsulting engagements including preparation and/or review of tax returns,research memos, estimates, extensions, and notices. * Seeking candidates whohave tax experience working on either Middle and/or Large Company Tax clients -(experience with clients who have annual revenues in the 25-400 million range) Responsibilities Reviews tax returns/work files for completeness,accuracy and compliance; communicates with and trains staff on areas needingimprovement. Monitors tax deadlines to ensure that returnsare prepared on a timely basis; communicates with managers during thepreparation process to identify any tax issues needing addressing and to pulljobs so that they reach the technical review stage timely. Performs tax research and helps train staff todo the same; schedules annual tax research training session for all tax staff. Understanding and completing the steps inconducting research projects; preparing written conclusions, subject to Manageror Principal review. Assisting audit and accounting staff withnon-complex tax questions. Understanding tax accruals. Responding to IRS or state tax notices. Training interns/staff to be able to prepareeffective responses to tax notices and reviews for accuracy and supervisingworkflow of Tax Accountants/Interns on less complex returns. Identifying problems and opportunities forresearch or work other than compliance. Requirements Educationand Experience Bachelor'sdegree (Masters in Tax is a plus) in accounting is required, a CPA license is aplus; along with a minimum of 3 years tax experience within a public accountingfirm. Qualified candidates will haveexperience with all different entity types. Ideal tax experience servicing middle market and/or large companyclients with a background in Partnerships, S Corporations, and C Corporations. Have a working knowledge ofPaperless systems such as GoFileRoom and tax software such as Caseware & ProSystems. Havea professional demeanor with excellent communication skills. Enjoy working withpeople and understand the importance of nurturing and building the firm'sclientele. Be ethical, conscientious, detail oriented, and well organized. Salary Information In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to sharethat the base pay range for this position is $70,000 - $92,000annually. Please keep in mind that this range is base pay only and does notconsider other components that make up the total rewards package for theposition such as eligibility to receive discretionary spot bonus incentives. Thisrange is a reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position.Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including butnotlimited to skills, experience, qualifications, and/or education and geographiclocation. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near thetop of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on thecapabilities and experience of the candidate.
