Part-Time LPN - Urgent Care - MGH

Job Summary Under the supervision of a Nurse Manager, licensed clinical leader, or non‑clinical practice manager and in collaboration with other team members provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the scope of practice. Essential Functions Interview patients about current problems, medications, and allergies, and review medical records. Measure and record patients’ vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration). Perform basic patient care and treatments such as dressing wounds, treating bedsores, administering enemas or douches, applying alcohol rubs, massaging, performing catheterizations, administering routine immunizations, nebulizer treatments, and visual acuity tests. Participate in patient treatment regimen, including administering medications under physician and registered nurse supervision. Communicate post‑visit findings and participate in the plan of care with appropriate clinical staff. Perform office responsibilities: answer phones, take messages, triage within scope of licensed practical nursing practice. Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine laboratory tests. Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures. Assist patients with bathing, dressing, maintaining hygiene, transferring in bed, standing, and walking. Qualifications Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with state license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 3‑5 years of medical experience preferred. Knowledge of patient education, vital sign measurements, medication administration (injections, IV, oral), specific procedures and tests, and professional communication skills. Location and Schedule Location: 151 Everett Avenue, Chelsea, MA. Onsite. Rotating schedule (including every other weekend). Weekly hours: 20. Pay range: $29.13 – $43.64 per hour.
