Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) – Obstetrics/Midwifery

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: 3 months

Schedule: 3 shifts/week, approximately 13 shifts/month

• 2 Day Shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM.
• 1 Night Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
• No call required.

Position Overview:

Seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide inpatient obstetric and midwifery care. The CNM will work collaboratively with OB/GYN physicians and the obstetrical team, including management of moderate- and high-risk obstetric patients.

Patient Volume:

• Approximately 10 deliveries/day.
• Approximately 11 triage patients/day.
• Prenatal, labor & delivery, postpartum, and women's health/family-planning patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prenatal and postpartum care.
• Labor management and vaginal deliveries.
• Fetal monitoring and testing.
• Obstetric triage.
• Laceration/episiotomy repair.
• Obstetric ultrasound.
• Management of multiple pregnancies.
• Manual delivery of placenta.
• IUD insertion/removal.
• Microscopy/wet prep.
• Surgical first assist for C-sections and/or tubal ligations.
• Collaborative management of high-risk obstetric conditions.

EMR: Epic

Requirements:

• Current/Active CNM Board Certification required.
• Active Virginia License required.
• Virginia DEA required.
• Must independently perform required CNM/OB procedures and skills.
• Must meet facility immunization requirements.
• Strong ability to collaborate with OB/GYN physicians and the obstetrical team.
