ROLE SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Technician III supports, measures, guides, develops, and adjusts daily and weekly manufacturing operations through the conversion of raw materials into finished products at a medical cannabis facility. The Manufacturing Tech III is responsible for ensuring the production schedule, compliance, and operational efficiency in their assigned manufacturing area. Activities may span the entire manufacturing cycle of cannabis products, from botanical preparation to final product packaging. The ideal candidate will excel as a team and department leader, with expertise in food/pharmaceutical manufacturing, and a strong attention to detail. The role demands heavy amounts of documentation and systems management. Duties are completed individually and in small teams, under the indirect supervision of Manufacturing Supervisors and Managers. The position is structured around a required training program and expected function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
All candidates must be able to work in an environment with a safety culture. Extended periods of standing, bending, reaching, and high dexterity functions are required. • Developing and implementing process improvements for manufacturing areas
  
• Managing performance and work schedules of direct reports (Tech 1 and 2)
  
• Ensuring production goals and timelines are communicated and executed
  
• Ensuring quality control, safety, and compliance of manufacturing activities and personnel
  
• Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of manufacturing team reporting
  
• Monitoring consumable inventory, ensuring supply levels, and maintaining records of material usage
  
• Conducting time studies, output tests, and implement Lean manufacturing standards
  
• Reviewing department output, update KPI dashboards, and create production reports
  
• Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
  
• Oversee and contribute to ERP updates, seed-to-sale updates, and EOD emails
  
• Documenting incident reports, and working with QA department on CAPA plans and investigations
  
• Ensure proper training, development, and mentorship of employees in sub-department
  
• Work with the management to ensure goals and deadlines are being met in a timely fashion
  
• Ensure department staff have received proper process and equipment training
  
• Technical expertise on certain pieces of equipment, as well as ability to troubleshoot and disassemble hardware
  
• Interfacing with equipment reps, understanding equipment maintenance requirements, and limiting down time of manufacturing equipment
  
• Independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors

• QUALIFICATIONS
  
• 3-5 years working in a manufacturing environment
  
• Minimum of two years of supervisory experience, with proven ability to effectively lead and organize a team.
  
• Hold excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  
• Adaptability for changes at last minute
  
• Capable of working without supervision
  
• Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the Grow operation
  
• Ability to work both in a team and independently

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has supervisory responsibility of the team.

REQUIRED EDUCATON and EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Business Administration/Management preferred
Two plus years of supervisory experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver license
Per state law, must be at least 21 years of age.
Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check.
Must pass a drug screening.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in cultivation and manufacturing environments. This role routinely uses cultivation processing equipment and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.

TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
