Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of speech and language skills utilizing standardized evaluations and informal assessments to establish eligibility for services and inform goals and service delivery. Utilize data to develop attainable, strengths-based SMART goals for improving functional communication skills. Provide direct services utilizing research-based treatment methods to improve students’ functional communication skills as outlined in the students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP). Record data and report progress at least as often as report cards are provided. Attend and participate in IEP meetings. Collaborate with other related service providers to conduct co-treatment sessions when deemed appropriate. Consult with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to implement communication strategies throughout the school day. Participate in professional development that is specific to the field and meets requirements to maintain licensure. Reports To Building principal and special education team administrator Director of Special Education & Special Education Coordinator Job Requirements Preferred Skills Experience with low-, mid-, and high-tech augmentative/alternative communication strategies. Experience with behavior management/de-escalation strategies. Minimum Requirements Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program. Valid Speech Language Pathology License through the Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Division of Professional Licensure, Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Valid Speech and Hearing Disabilities (All Levels) License through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred. Strong Clinical Fellow (CF) candidates considered. At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. Master degree preferred. Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
