Senior Revenue Accountant

Senior Revenue AccountantA growing company is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join its P&C Accounting team. This is a hands-on role that combines accounting, revenue analysis, data management, and business partnership. The ideal candidate is more than someone who can complete journal entries. We're looking for a proactive, curious problem-solver who wants to understand how the business works, dig into the numbers, identify issues, and figure out how to fix them. You'll work closely with Finance and Operations teams and become a go-to resource for understanding revenue, AR, and financial results.Manage monthly revenue and accounts receivable processes using data from the Agency Management System (AMS)Pull, analyze, and validate large amounts of transactional data and make sure it ties to the general ledgerPrepare monthly revenue and AR schedules, reconciliations, and journal entriesOwn revenue recognition and supporting workbooks for multiple P&LsInvestigate discrepancies and work with Operations and Finance to resolve issues at the sourcePerform month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliationsAnalyze actual results against prior periods, budgets, and forecasts and explain the reasons behind variancesAssist with cash reconciliations and research differences between system and bank activityProvide Finance leaders with clear, data-driven answers about revenue and financial resultsSupport external audits and maintain accurate, well-documented schedulesLook for ways to improve, simplify, and automate reporting and reconciliation processesProactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership and solve problems rather than simply identify themStrong accounting foundation, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and debits/creditsStrong analytical skills and comfort working with large, detailed datasetsHigh attention to detail and accuracy, especially in a deadline-driven environmentCurious about the "why" behind the numbers and interested in understanding how the business operatesAble to communicate financial information clearly with both accounting and non-accounting teamsOrganized and able to manage recurring month-end responsibilities independentlyGood judgment and the confidence to make decisions while knowing when to escalate an issueBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field2–5+ years of accounting or finance experienceAdvanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, PivotTables, and linked workbooksExperience working with large datasetsPower Query experience is a plusInsurance brokerage, agency, or P&C experience is highly preferredExperience with an Agency Management System is a plus; Applied Epic experience strongly preferredThis is a great opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond traditional accounting and become a true business partner.
