Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for our client. This job is responsible for designing and improving manufacturing equipment, components, and fixtures using 3D CAD while developing buildable engineering drawings. This position supports equipment reliability, safety, sanitation, utilities, and project execution from design through installation.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
- Design change parts, guards, chutes, conveyors, and fixtures in 3D CAD and release buildable drawings
- Modify and improve production equipment with safety and sanitation built in
- Size and select motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, and pneumatic components
- Support utilities including refrigeration, steam, compressed air, and water
- Solve repeat failures for good and help build smarter spare parts strategies
- Work with fab shops and vendors from quote to install
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
- BS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent design experience)
- 3+ years of mechanical design in manufacturing
- Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks a plus) and GD&T knowledge
- Experience with drive selection, machine guarding, and engineering calcs
- Food, beverage, or sanitary design experience a big plus
- Bonus: 3-A or ASME BPE, ammonia refrigeration/PSM, vibration analysis, PE or EIT, Spanish
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
- Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
- Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Communication skills.
