In addition to the routine tasks, a *Radiologic Technologist* assumes responsibilities of designated area(s) and assists other departments when available. **Key Accountabilities:**Completion of requested x-rays in a timely manner that are of high-quality. **Essential Duties:*** Greets and escorts patient to the appropriate room.* Obtains the patient's history to ensure proper scheduling.* Asks female patients of childbearing age the date of their last menstrual period and ensures that there is no possibility of pregnancy.* Prepares the patient for procedures by explaining the exam and answers his/her questions as best as possible.* Maintains patient comfort and safety while removing obscuring objects from the area of interest.* Provides radiation protection (shielding / collimation) for the patient, self, and others in accordance with prescribed safety standards of ALARA (including wearing his/her film badge).* Selects proper technical factors according to the size of the individual patient and produces/develops quality radiographs while using appropriate lead markers.* Critiques radiographs (density/detail/contrast/positioning/markers/anatomy visible), makes technical adjustments and performs repeats as necessary.* Along with the pain management team, assists during fluoroscopic procedures (i.e.: epidural steroid injections, hip aspirations).* Reports equipment problems to department supervisor, office manager, and vendor.* Participates in training of new employees.* Maintains safe radiologic practice per standards adapted and implemented by x-ray quality assurance policies.* Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.**Qualifications:*** Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program* Must have active, valid registration and continued certification through the ARRT* Candidates applying to a position based in NJ must have active, valid NJ radiology licensure* Knowledge of x-ray procedures and epidural procedures required* Ability to operate all equipment and machinery, including processors and computer systems, required**Office Hours:**Monday - Friday: 7:30am - 4:30pm**Total Hours per Week:**40**Pay Range:**$27.50/hr - $41.00/hr **Our Commitment to Employees:**Come work at Rothman Orthopaedics!
