Overview Title: Mechanical Breakdown Adjuster Location: Greenwood Village, CO Work Arrangement: Hybrid This role uses standardized procedures to adjudicate mechanical breakdown claims. It involves answering telephone calls from repair facilities and customers with service contracts or policies, answering questions, providing instructions, and obtaining information to complete the claims adjudication process. Determine coverage by interpreting the terms and conditions of a service contract or policy. Ensure cost effectiveness by negotiating parts and labor and potentially resourcing parts to support the company and meet customer needs for RV and automobile claims. This position is in a call center environment. Responsibilities Provide timely, personalized and quality customer service to both internal and external customers Determine validity and adequacy of dealer repair orders and loss reports; ensure parts and labor charges are accurate and reasonable Enter information into claims software to document claims, verify parts and labor pricing, and adjust and settle claims Respond to inquiries from customers according to the terms and conditions of the policy Provide accurate and timely information to internal and external stakeholders by utilizing subject matter expertise on policies Collaborate with team by escalating issues to upper-level claims professionals to facilitate accurate assessment of complex exposures Contribute to a positive work environment by modeling cultural expectations and promoting values such as accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and a positive attitude Qualifications & Preferred Knowledge National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification A Claims Adjuster license from any state; must be able to acquire state licenses for assigned states Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) Working knowledge of mechanical failures and repairs Basic knowledge of material damage estimating processes, systems and requirements Basic understanding of claims department processes and procedures Basic understanding of insurance policy and contract language Basic knowledge of claims legal regulations and processes Spanish or French speaking a plus Secondary school certification Valid Driver's License Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $28.00 – $41.75 per hour (note: pay range listed above; actual offer based on role complexity, location, and candidate background) Compensation: Base salary plus eligibility for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus based on business and individual performance.
