Labor Management Relations Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Labor Management Relations Associate Attorney with 3–7 years of experience to join a leading national law firm and its highly regarded Labor & Employment practice.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in traditional labor law , with experience handling labor arbitrations, unfair labor practice matters before the National Labor Relations Board, collective bargaining, and union avoidance. Responsibilities

• Represent employers in traditional labor matters and labor-management relations.
• Handle labor arbitrations , including first- or second-chair experience.
• Prosecute and defend unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) .
• Advise clients regarding collective bargaining and union-related matters.
• Counsel employers on union avoidance strategies and labor relations issues.
• Represent clients in labor disputes and related proceedings.
• Handle wage and hour class and collective actions, particularly matters involving unionized employees, as applicable.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys across offices and practice groups.
• Provide practical, business-oriented advice while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of traditional labor law experience .
• Experience with labor arbitrations, including first- or second-chair experience.
• Experience prosecuting and defending unfair labor practice charges before the NLRB.
• Experience with collective bargaining and union avoidance.
• Wage and hour class and collective action experience, particularly involving unionized employees, is preferred.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively across offices and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong commitment to client service.
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in the applicable jurisdiction required.

Compensation

The anticipated initial salary range for this position is $245,000–$325,000 annually , depending on qualifications, experience, location, and other job-related factors. The position is also eligible for productivity and discretionary bonuses .

Work Environment

The firm maintains a hybrid work environment, with attorneys expected to work from a firm office three days per week while supporting flexibility and work-life balance.
