Employee Benefits Strategic Account Executive

Employee Benefits Strategic Account Executive (SAE) – Overview An Employee Benefits Strategic Account Executive interfaces with a group of clients (a book of business) to strategize and propose viable solutions to manage the menu of benefit options that the client offers to its employees. SAEs partner with clients and assist them with emerging trends in employee benefits, their annual renewal process, and other possible options that would enhance or meet the goals of the client. Responsibilities Partner with each client in the book of business – attend regular and pre‑planned meetings; understand key business issues; bring viable solutions. Act to retain clients and achieve success; collect, organize, and review relationship information. Understand employee benefits, plan designs, riders, legislation, and emerging trends; share knowledge with HUB employees. Strategically plan and execute plan renewals; maintain regular communication with clients and update them on trends and solutions. Proactively manage the renewal process; address and solve problems generated by the service team. Provide value through timely and regular presentations of additional benefits options; generate new opportunities; encourage client innovation. Alert clients to potential issues (legislative and coverage information); serve as educator or special speaker on benefit topics. Communicate thoroughly with team members regarding client issues, renewals, and proactive work. Attend training, read industry knowledge, and participate in coursework to earn or maintain professional designations. Assume other duties as assigned. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in employee benefits, including strong knowledge of employee benefit plans, ancillary coverages, and current legislation. Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to interact effectively with people at all levels. Highly organized and able to manage multiple details and paperwork proactively. Strong problem‑solving, negotiation, and relationship building skills. Very comfortable with business technology (voice mail, e‑mail, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software). Valid Life/Health Insurance Producer License preferred. Strong written and verbal communication; dynamic presenter; articulate advocate; able to explain formulas and processes to C‑suite staff. Willingness and ability to travel to all Carolinas office locations and client sites as needed. Education & Licensing Requirements Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred; high‑school diploma required. Must be willing to travel within the Carolinas. LA & H License preferred. Must obtain a NC/SC Life and Health Insurance License within 60 days of employment. Professional designations (RHU, REBC, CEBS) preferred.
