IT Help Desk Support Specialist

Location: San Diego, CA 92123 (100% Onsite) Shift: 8-5pm Mon to Fri Temp to hire Pay rate: $25-30/hr Join a mission-driven organization dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families throughout San Diego County. Position Summary: We are seeking a customer-focused IT Help Desk Support Specialist to provide first-line technical support to internal employees across multiple departments. The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical problems, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting end users in a fast-paced environment. This role will troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and application issues while ensuring technology systems remain reliable and secure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests via phone, email, ticketing system, and in person.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, printer, network, VPN, and Microsoft 365 issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
• Create, manage, and disable user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Support Windows operating systems, Office applications, Teams, Outlook, and common business software.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and technical procedures within the IT ticketing system.
• Escalate complex technical issues to Systems, Network, or Security teams as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of IT Help Desk or Desktop Support experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and Active Directory.
• Citrix or Intune experience a plus
• Experience supporting laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice, Zendesk, or similar.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple support requests while maintaining a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting healthcare, government, nonprofit, or public-sector organizations.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or ITIL certifications.
• Experience with Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, or mobile device management (MDM).
