Software Engineer IThe Software Engineer I role reports into the various IT Delivery Hubs at Estes. They will work to solve business problems through innovative and modern frameworks and technologies with guidance from mid-level and senior Software Engineers. They will demonstrate a growth mindset through continuous learning of modern development frameworks and demonstrate that learning through working with teammates to build solutions that drive business value. They will also collaborate across business units, technical teams, and the internal and external engineering community to grow themselves through guidance and mentorship from senior Software Engineers.Responsibilities:Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain applications and interfaces across a full stack of technologies, working at the direction of senior Software Engineers to execute the delivery of availability, resilience, and scalability within solutionsCollaborate with senior Software Engineers, business partners, architecture, infrastructure, and development teams to deliver solutions that drive valueDemonstrate a growth mindset to continuously learn latest technologies, tools, and techniques, as directed by senior Software engineers, and participate in internal and external technology communities to continue knowledge growthUtilize programming languages and technologies like Javascript, Java, Angular, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, and Python, SQL and NoSQL databases, and Container Orchestration services like KubernetesOccasional travel may be required based on Business needsRegular attendance is required.This is not an all-inclusive list of job requirements and/or duties and may not contain all mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job at all times due to circumstances. Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks.Qualifications:Required experience:Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent training and experience1+ year of experience (professional and/or academic) in software engineering6+ months of experience (professional and/or academic) with at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, API's, Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, .NET, PythonPreferred Experience:2+ years of experience with at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, XML, JSON,.NET, Python1+ year of experience in open-source frameworks (i.e. Spring Boot, Bootstrap, Angular, React, Node.js)1+ year of experience in Rest API development and technologies (i.e. Confluent Kafka, KSQL, Kong, JSON, Swagger)1+ year of experience in Relational and NoSQL databases (i.e. SQL Server, Mongo)Experience with Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure preferredMust be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of ConductMust be able to interact well with othersMust be able to work independently, or in a team settingMust be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple prioritiesResponds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlinesMust pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background checkMust be authorized to work in the United StatesPhysical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
