Technical Sales Representative

SUMMARY

The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities in academic, clinical research, and bio-pharma labs, with a focus on technical expertise in flow cytometry. Achieve the financial objectives of the assigned territory, by effectively identifying and supporting scientists in making beneficial/optimal decisions when purchasing flow cytometry equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for technical sales, pre & post-sales support, marketing and technical feedback, and customer satisfaction relative to sales activities Understand and address the technical and application needs of customers and match those needs with the sales of appropriate equipment Coordinate and conduct in lab demonstrations, perform post-sale follow up visits to ensure customer satisfaction, and work as a liaison between Field Service, and R&D to address customer equipment performance needs Manage administrative duties as assigned: monitoring expenses to budget, timely administrative activity reporting, provide internal feedback regarding competitive products, adhering to OHSA and Universal Lab precautions Generate and follow-up on leads by participating in state, regional, and national meetings as directed by Sales Management. Activities include pre-meeting display setup if necessary; meeting support, post meeting display disassembly as needed.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. BA/BS in Life Sciences, Biological areas, Engineering, Business, or closely related discipline At least 3 years flow cytometry experience. Previous Capital Equipment Sales Experience preferred. Must be self-motivated to succeed and have a mastery of the complex sales process. Computer proficiency is required, including skills with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to travel 50-75 % travel.
