Accountants will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, variance analysis, reconciliations, and process improvements that enable SpaceX’s ambitious mission.The ideal candidate excels in a dynamic, high-growth environment, while contributing to process improvements and collaborating effectively with team members.RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysisSupport inventory, fixed assets, cost accounting, or other specialized areas as assignedPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual divisional balance sheet reconciliationsCollaborate with accounting staff to foster a supportive work environmentWork closely with stakeholders in Tax, FP&A, Financial Reporting, and other business units to build and implement solutions that ensure seamless operationsCollaborate with auditors to provide accurate and timely submission of requested documentationPerform ad hoc duties and analysis as assigned by managementEnsure compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and internal controlsIdentify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practicesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree2+ years of accounting experiencePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or other business disciplineCPA license or equivalent“Run it like you own it” mentality with the ability to thrive in a high paced, ever-changing environmentDeadline focused and loves being in the office working face-to-face with teamsExcellent technical, analytical, and communication skills, both written and verbalProficient computer skills, particularly with ExcelAbility to collaborate, guide junior staff, and contribute to team developmentFamiliarity with SQLUnderstanding of US GAAPADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Willingness to work long hours and weekend when needed to meet critical deadlinesThis position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite - remote work not consideredCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay Range:Level 1: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00Level 2: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
