Senior Accountant

MUST HAVE CPG experience and understand trade spend. Also, some FP&A exposure is preferred. Reporting to the Vice President Finance & Administration, this person will assist with much of the accounting function including general ledger accounting, financial close, and deductions management, while also supporting entry-level FP&A activities such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This role will be critical in helping manage daily accounting activities and support financial planning efforts to provide efficient, accurate and timely financial reporting to the management team. Job Responsibilities: Demonstrate passion for and expertise in the accounting function, activities, and processes. Assist with month-end close including preparing various balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and gathering support to facilitate the close process. Analyze indirect trade spend weekly and present findings to cross-functional teams. Follow up on outstanding issues each week to ensure deduction validation and payback. Manage invalid indirect deductions by tracking the information and working with the customer portals to recover funds Assist in settling trade-related deductions and dispute any invalid trade deductions found in partnership with sales. Help to lead ad-hoc projects to help make our accounting processes more efficient. Support entry-level FP&A functions including assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Assist in building and maintaining financial models to support business decision-making. Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis for management as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred 3-5 years of accounting/finance experience Entry-level FP&A experience or exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling a plus Consumer goods experience preferred Person of high character and integrity Strong excel skills and attention to detail Willingness to work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, based on business demands #J-18808-Ljbffr
