Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care / Medical-Surgical

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | Every Other Holiday Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Progressive Care / Medical-Surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio on nights
• Manage patients presenting with abdominal surgeries, ear/nose/throat surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical diagnoses
• Perform and maintain IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, and Foley catheters
• Titrate drips including Heparin and, on an infrequent basis, insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin
• Collaborate with telemetry monitor technicians who track patient rhythms and communicate concerns to the nursing staff
• Float on rotation to other medical-surgical units when the primary unit is overstaffed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• Intermediate Care or Progressive Care background
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
• Demonstrated experience with IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, and Foley catheters
• Ability to titrate drips as required by unit protocols

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current ACLS certification
• Experience with respiratory support equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, or tracheostomy care
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in a PCU or medical-surgical setting
