Intensive Care Unit Registered NurseDepartment: Intensive Care UnitEmployment Type: Full TimeShifts Available: NightsHours: 12-hour shiftsLocation: Dallas Medical CenterWe are seeking an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse, also referred to as an ICU RN, Intensive Care Nurse or Intensive Care Unit RN. The Intensive Care RN (ICU RN) will be responsible for providing intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The ICU RN will have advanced skills in critical care settings, make quick decisions, and will be compassionate to all patients. An ICU RN monitors vital signs, blood oxygen levels, administers IV fluids, and communicates effectively to the medical team to modify care plans accordingly.ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventionsUse advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parametersSafely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactionsManage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitorsProvide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being providedDocument all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patientsHere are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:Health, dental, and vision insurance optionsPaid vacation, sick time and holidaysBereavement leave, FMLA and other leave optionsEmployer 401K optionsTuition reimbursement optionsLife, disability, and other insurance optionsMany other amazing benefitsQualificationsBefore we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:Current and valid state RN License.Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:Completion of Critical Care Course preferredMinimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.Equal Employment OpportunityCompany is an equal employment opportunity employer.
