Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a dedicated paraprofessional, supporting the growth and development of one exceptional high school student for the upcoming school year. This role is thoughtfully structured to provide individualized support, ensuring that each day brings meaningful accomplishments and genuine connections.
You’ll work roughly 35 hours per week, aligning your schedule with the days the school is open. Beginning at the start of the new academic year and concluding on the last day of school, you’ll have the unique opportunity to make a significant impact throughout the school year.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar school-based support role is highly valued.
- Ability to obtain or present current clearances: child abuse, criminal background, and police check.
- Commitment to working closely with one student, providing continuous 1:1 attention.
- Familiarity with IEPs and skill in supporting students’ individualized educational and social needs.
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a dedicated 1:1 paraprofessional for a 15-year-old student.
- Support and encourage academic, behavioral, and social success according to the student’s IEP.
- Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to implement accommodations and modifications.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and engaging environment for the student.
- Offer insights and updates on student progress to the broader educational team.
