Criminal Investigator (Program Manager)

Hiring Agency: Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives The mission of the CGI Branch is to create and disseminate information and training that addresses the unique challenges law enforcement encounters in firearms-related investigations. ATF uses Crime Gun Intelligence (CGI) to disrupt the shooting cycle by identifying, investigating, and prosecuting shooters and their sources of crime guns. Key Responsibilities The major duties of the Criminal Investigator (Program Manager) position include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as an expert authority on broad law enforcement issues falling within ATF's jurisdiction. Projects involve studies of processes, problems, and initiatives which concern major law enforcement programs of the Bureau and associated activities in other Federal, state, local, and international law enforcement agencies and organizations. Provides professional leadership and guidance in extending, improving, and monitoring existing programs and devising, developing, and implementing innovative changes and long-term improvements. Functions as policy developer and manager for a critical Bureau law enforcement program, function, or operation. Reviews, evaluates, and recommends improvements to major law enforcement program and mission areas.
