We are seeking a dynamic, Accounting Manager to contribute to this mission with vision, integrity, and operational excellence.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities*** Manages daily accounting activities and assigns work to accounting staff and assigned to ensure timely and accurate completion.* Coordinates assigned month-end and year-end close activities, monitors deadlines, and escalates significant issues to the CFO.* Reviews journal entries, account reconciliations, allocations, supporting schedules, and financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.* Monitors general ledger activity and works with staff to research and resolve discrepancies, unusual balances, and coding issues.* Assists with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, schedules, and variance analyses.* Administers established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls and recommend updates to the CFO when needed.* Oversees assigned grant and fund accounting activities, including transaction review, reconciliations, allocations, and support for required financial reports.* Coordinates audit schedules and supporting documentation and responds to audit requests under the direction of the CFO.* Supports annual budget development, budget-to-actual monitoring, and financial forecast preparation by compiling and validating accounting information.* Provides accounting guidance and responsive support to program and administrative departments regarding coding, documentation, account activity, and established procedures.* Identifies opportunities to improve accounting workflows, documentation, timeliness, and accuracy and helps implement approved improvements.* Supervises, trains, coaches, and evaluates assigned staff; establishes clear expectations and supports professional development.* Maintains adequate documentation and organized records to support financial reporting, audits, monitoring, and regulatory or funder reviews.* Assists the CFO with special projects, financial analyses, accounting software implementation, system improvements, and reporting requests.* Perform other duties as assigned.## Qualifications**Credentials, Abilities and Experience*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, preferred.* Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including at least two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience.* Experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes.* Experience with nonprofit, grant, and fund accounting preferred.* Working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, audit support, and financial reporting practices.* Knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance and 2 CFR Part 200 requirements, including allowable costs, cost allocation, internal controls, grant compliance, and documentation standards.* Experience supporting grant pre-award and post-award processes, including budget development, review of funding requirements, grant setup, expenditure tracking, compliance monitoring, reporting support, documentation, and coordination with program staff to ensure grant requirements are met.* Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, organize workflows, review work, and meet established deadlines.* Must maintain clear criminal background and be eligible to work with government grant funding (debarment clearance)* Proficiency with accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications, Bill.com, NetSuite.* Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.Equal Opportunity EmployerThis employer participates in E-Verify.
