Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.Job Summary:The Undersea and Electronics Systems (UES) Department in Portsmouth, RI is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong COTS computing and networking background to join our Hardware and Infrastructure team implementing the next generation RADAR solutions. The desired candidate has a current Secret clearance, is highly technical, and able to work with minimal oversight as well as the ability to manage projects. This individual will act as a key liaison between cross-functional teams, ensuring technical solutions are delivered on time, within scope and meet quality standards.Your qualifications could add tremendous value to our team. If you’re passionate about what you could accomplish here, we’d love to hear from you.What You Will Do:Design COTS hardware infrastructure systems (e.g. X86-based processors) Research and selection of servers, workstations, add-in interface cards, storage devices, and other COTS hardwareEngineer BIOS and operating system configuration definitionsWork in a lab environment and operate standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, processor bus analyzers, emulators, and data capture tools, etc.System prototyping and integration in the labCollaborate in development with hardware engineering disciplines, supply chain, suppliers, field engineering, on-site installation and trades, and Customers to develop and deliver safety critical systemsSupport occasional domestic travel and potential international travelQualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experienceExperience with emerging and legacy hardware and software, including Unix and Linux operating systemsExperience working in a lab environment and operating standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, processor bus analyzers, emulators, and data capture tools, etc.Experience with taking a system design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and developing a complete COTS-based hardware design and then verifying the design via integration and test plans and activitiesU.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearanceQualifications We Prefer:Experience developing and implementing computing, networking, and information technology infrastructure through a rigorous design and documentation processExperience collaborating in development with hardware engineering disciplines, supply chain, suppliers, field engineering, on-site installation and trades, and Customers to develop and deliver safety critical systemsCurrent or in-progress computing/networking certification(s) (e.g. CCNA, AWS, CISSP)Experience with RADAR system hardwareExperience with Firewall design and configurationExperience implementing Security Technical Implementation guides and network hardeningExperience with system level hardware integration and troubleshooting skillsExperience in agile hardware and software development and management using SCRUM.Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint)What We Offer:Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
