About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical Surgical RN / Oncology – North Carolina

Schedule: 3x12 night shifts, every other weekend required, 13-26 week contracts available

Highlights:

• Specialized medical-surgical oncology unit caring for patients receiving chemotherapy and biotherapy
• Chemotherapy certification provided – ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration (certification cost covered by assignment)
• Target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 with 42-bed unit
• Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system
• Free access to oncology and chemotherapy education courses, many applicable toward CEUs
• Comprehensive 24-hour orientation with ongoing onsite training and support

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification prior to or during assignment
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Experience with accessing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, wound care, isolation precautions, and non-invasive airway management
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Willingness to float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed
• Availability to work storm/hurricane team assignments and during catastrophic events if required
