Job Overview

We're looking for a Material Area Supervisor to lead hourly work teams responsible for unloading, storing, and delivering material that keeps our stamping plant running. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment and wants to grow their career in automotive operations. You'll supervise UAW employees supporting press, assembly, and dock operations, with a sharp focus on material flow, highload drivers, and rack movement to and from the press lines. If you're early in your career (0-3 years of experience) and looking for a role with real ownership and growth potential, this is the opportunity for you.

️ What's the Job?

• Lead the safety, delivery, cost, quality, and morale of hourly work teams
• Develop Team Leaders to meet corporate guidelines and improve material delivery processes using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles
• Coordinate daily team activities to hit key business metrics
• Manage multiple work teams in a high-volume, fast-paced unionized manufacturing setting
• Ensure inventory accuracy and record integrity
• Maintain strong working relationships with both management and union-represented employees
• Oversee and develop high-functioning teams of Team Leaders and Team Members
• Focus on material flow, highload drivers, and rack movement to/from press lines

✅ What's Needed?

• 0-3 years of experience preferred (more experience welcome)
• Automotive experience strongly preferred
• Stamping plant experience is a plus
• Experience with material handling, raw materials, pallets, lifts, or large PIV equipment preferred
• Ability to work any shift in a 3-shift operation (shift assignment based on experience and plant needs; may rotate)
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Bachelor's degree not required
• Strong leadership and communication skills in a team-based environment
