Senior HVAC Project Estimator

Key ResponsibilitiesAttend pre-bid meetings and review project scopes to understand requirements, even with limited initial information providedAnalyze project bid documents, drawings, and specificationsFind and supervise subcontractor and vendor quotes for outsourced workConduct thorough quantity takeoffs using on-screen estimating software within specified deadlinesCollaborate with estimators, operations teams, and internal departmentsCompile, assess, and finalize estimates accurately and on timeJoin internal bid-day reviews with leadership for pricing and strategy confirmationAssess subcontractor and vendor proposals for completeness, compliance, and schedule alignmentCreate value engineering options to support client goals and project efficiencyWrite detailed scope narratives to bolster proposalsProvide post-award support to field operations to ensure smooth transition from estimate to executionManage multiple bid schedules and consistently meet proposal deadlinesIdentify project requirements and cost drivers proactively, even with limited dataBalance high-level project understanding with strong attention to detail for client satisfactionExperience & RequirementsMinimum of 10 years' experience in mechanical estimating, with a focus on industrial, HVAC, and plumbing systemsProven track record in estimating process piping projectsKnowledgeable in Design-Build and Plan & Spec project delivery methodsProficient in estimating software, on-screen takeoff tools, and spreadsheet applicationsAbility to produce accurate and competitive estimates with minimal informationUnderstanding of cost structures and requirements for Design-Build projectsExcellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project stakeholdersThorough knowledge of HVAC, industrial systems, and piping systemsPreferred:Experience in heavy industrial mechanical estimating environmentsAdvanced expertise in process piping estimation
