Job Full Description

Job Title:Custodian

Pay: $16.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Location: Dallas, TX

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect floors, furniture, and surfaces.
Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
Maintain school grounds by removing litter and ensuring outdoor areas are clean and presentable.
Safely handle, store, and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.
Operate custodial equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility and report maintenance, safety, or security concerns.
Assist with building security by locking/unlocking designated areas and monitoring facility access.
Order and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, maintenance materials, and equipment.
Set up and break down rooms for school activities, meetings, and events.
Respond promptly to spills, emergencies, and custodial service requests.

Skills

Knowledge of cleaning methods, sanitation practices, and custodial procedures.
Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and maintenance tools.
Basic building maintenance and minor repair skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
Commitment to workplace safety and security procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous janitorial, custodial, maintenance, or cleaning experience preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb as needed.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to pass any required background checks for working in a school environment.
Must follow all school policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
