Our Lake Norman practice in Huntersville, NC is looking for a Lead Veterinary Technician to play an important role in our clinic. LEAD VETERINARY TECHNICIAN Essential Functions of the Lead Veterinary Technician Include: Lead a team of two to four technicians in their performance of a variety of technical and client service duties that facilitate the work of the veterinarians. Oversee and lead new hire and team training, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and supportive administrative duties. Partner with veterinarian management on team accountability, resolution, and assist with follow-through while maintaining effective employee-management communication. Provide quality, compassionate, best-in-class care for our patients, while also maximizing clinic productivity Assist veterinarians with examinations and properly handle animals before, during, and after procedures Perform diagnostic imaging such as x-rays, ultrasound, and CT scans Clean, sterilize, and prepare kennels, exam rooms, and equipment Maintain and update medical charts, administer medications and treatments, and care for animals during their visit Professionally communicate basic diagnoses (such as ear infections, skin infections, intestinal parasites, etc.) to pet parents Additional functions for qualified technicians: Perform dental prophylaxis, place IVCs, venipuncture, and assist with surgeries Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have at least 1 year of leadership experience and at least 3 years of veterinary technician experience.
