Lead the Automation Heartbeat of a 24/7 Manufacturing Operation

Picture a high-speed production floor where precision, safety, and uptime are everything. As our Industrial Automation & Electromechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you start your day by walking the line—checking HMI dashboards, greeting your team of Electricians, Electro-Mechanical Technicians, and Mechanics, and reviewing overnight events. A line fault? You’re the calm, hands-on expert who can jump in, trace the issue through an Allen-Bradley program, and get steel-forming equipment back online. By afternoon, you’re aligning a capital upgrade, reviewing schematics for a new install, and coaching a technician through lockout/tagout best practices. The plant never sleeps—so your leadership keeps it safe, reliable, and efficient around the clock.

What You Will Lead and Do

• Champion safety every minute: follow BRC food safety initiatives, GMP, company standard work, and product quality requirements; enforce NEC, OSHA, high-voltage, and LOTO protocols.
• Mentor and develop a multi-skilled maintenance team; set expectations, conduct regular safety talks, inspections, and hazard assessments, and cultivate integrity and continuous improvement.
• Own preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime and lift overall reliability.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and controls issues across high-speed production and steel-forming equipment—providing hands-on support during failures, startups, shutdowns, and emergencies (24/7 availability required).
• Provide technical expertise in PLC/HMI programming, process control, and automation; modernize legacy platforms (e.g., migrate Allen-Bradley PLC-5 to ControlLogix) and fine-tune control loops for peak performance.
• Partner with Operations to improve throughput and line reliability; plan and execute mechanical, electrical, and automation projects from concept through commissioning.
• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and specifications for new installations and modifications.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors on capital projects and equipment upgrades.
• Direct MRO spare-parts strategy: set and control min/max levels, support the MRO team on technical purchasing and parts selection, and keep inventory records accurate to ensure critical components are always available.
• Plan maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, and production areas; audit the planning system periodically and produce statistical reports.
• Maintain complete documentation: work orders, logs, inspections, and related records.
• Manage the maintenance budget, spare parts inventory, and shop supplies.
• Track and communicate KPIs for electrical performance, maintenance effectiveness, and reliability.
• Uphold internal controls and model Trivium’s core values—be a respectful teammate and a careful steward of company resources.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 3–5 years in industrial maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• 2–3 years of supervisory/lead experience preferred.
• Background in steel manufacturing and/or food processing is highly desirable.
• Fluency with AC/DC motors, VFDs, pneumatic and electronic instrumentation, and wireless technologies.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals; experience using a CMMS for work orders.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills with a results-driven, detail-oriented mindset.
• Comfort thriving under pressure in a 24/7 operation.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role spends most time on the manufacturing floor. You’ll stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers to handle and feel; frequently reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and may occasionally work in non-permit required confined spaces (with training as needed). Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs (no continual lifting). Vision needs include close, distance, and color recognition; good hand/eye coordination is essential. The area is typically very loud—hearing protection and assigned PPE are required. Temperatures may vary from very cold to around 90 degrees, and the atmosphere can include fumes, dust, and odors.
