JOB OVERVIEW

The Housekeeping Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring cleanliness, order, and presentation standards across all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This role manages team scheduling, quality inspections, and staff training, contributing to Faena New York’s world-class guest service and Forbes-level execution.

This is a full-time position with an annual compensation of $85,000.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead daily housekeeping operations, managing team assignments and productivity expectations.
\n
• Conduct room and public area inspections to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and guest readiness.
\n
• Train team members on Faena service standards, safety, chemical handling, and room care techniques.
\n
• Collaborate with Front Office, Engineering, and F&B to manage guest requests and room status updates.
\n
• Ensure department compliance with DOH, OSHA, and property-wide sanitation policies.
\n
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and team development initiatives.
\n
• Monitor inventory levels and order linens, guest supplies, and amenities.
\n
• Handle guest complaints and service recovery related to housekeeping issues in a timely and professional manner.
\n
• Assist with scheduling, payroll submission, and time/attendance tracking for housekeeping staff.
\n
• Support and maintain departmental operations including lost & found documentation, deep cleaning schedules, property-wide cleanliness, inspections and seasonal projects.
\n
• Ensure all staff are following safety protocols, chemical handling standards, and DOH compliance.
\n
• Support VIP and special guest room preparation and follow-up service.
\n
• Perform Manager on Duty responsibilities and lead by example in delivering guest service recovery.
\n
• Coordinate and assist with other departments and vendors as needed.
\n
• Enforced policies and procedures.
\n
• Promotes harmony among staff in other departments. Maintain department relationships.
\n
• Respond to guest service requests and manage in-room service recovery with discretion and professionalism.
\n
• Assign cleaning tasks and manage staff schedules.
\n
• Perform quality control inspections and ensure cleanliness standards are upheld in all assigned areas.
\n
• Respond promptly to guest service requests and oversee housekeeping-related service recovery.
\n
• Monitor linen and amenity par levels, reporting discrepancies or shortages to day leadership.
\n
• Liaise with Front Office and Engineering and other departments on room status changes, maintenance requests, and daily service coordination.
\n
• Monitor incoming delivery of linen/terry.
\n
• Maintain accurate records including room status reports, pass-on logs, and service issue tracking.
\n
• Enforce safety and sanitation procedures including DOH and OSHA compliance.
\n
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to the team members and report any employee relations concerns.
\n
• Utilize PMS/APP systems to be advised of assignments and or other computerized applications.
\n
• Adhere to the established standard of safety, fire regulations, and department procedures and policies.
\n
• Manages, trains, and schedules Housekeeping staff.
\n
• Schedules work; monitors progress and inspects rooms.
\n
• Maintains supplies.
\n
• Understands and enforces Faena New York policies.
\n
• Maintains professional and friendly relationships with staff and guests.
\n
• Prepares payroll and maintains records.
\n
• Ensures timely completion of schedules. Schedule staff as needed.
\n
• Monitors performance, attendance, and productivity.
\n
• Adjust labor according to occupancy.
\n
• Participates in inventories of uniforms, linens and other supplies and equipment.
\n
• Oversees shift start. Organizes and attends regular meetings.
\n
• Monitors cost management.
\n
• Inspects and maintains public areas and guest floors.
\n
• Ensure safe working conditions. Responds in emergencies.
\n
• Perform other tasks as needed.
\n
• Monitors and maintain uniforms, neat and clean appearance.
\n
• Participate in issuing a disciplinary action to staff.
\n

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

\n
• Minimum 5 years of luxury hotel housekeeping experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
\n
• Knowledge of PMS systems (Opera) and housekeeping applications (HotSOS, Alice, etc.).
\n
• Experience in union environments preferred.
\n
• Strong understanding of NYC DOH and OSHA compliance requirements.
\n
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English).
\n
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Hospitality degree preferred.
\n
