The Daycare Director leads a small team of 1-5 staff, overseeing daily operations and ensuring a nurturing, safe environment for children. Reporting directly to the owner or board, this role balances administrative responsibilities with hands-on involvement in childcare. The director shapes curriculum implementation, manages enrollment, and fosters effective communication with parents and staff while maintaining compliance with health and safety standards. While professional development opportunities exist, the role primarily offers stability with limited growth prospects.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support daycare staff
- Develop and enhance daycare programs
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians
- Conduct staff training sessions
- Oversee facility maintenance and safety protocols
- Manage enrollment and registration processes
- Ensure health, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in daycare management
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong knowledge of child development principles
- Proven staff management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Conflict resolution expertise
